Context
“Our teachers love the lessons, but managing everything through Google Drive is a nightmare.”
CRSci's curriculum was originally distributed through shared drives, creating friction for both teachers and administrators. Materials were hard to find, version control was messy, and there was no way to track engagement or protect proprietary content.
We set out to design a secure, centralized hub that simplifies access for educators, strengthens administrative visibility, and ensures CRSci's growing library of inclusive STEM lessons remains protected and scalable.
Project goal
Design a secure, unified platform that makes CRSci’s curriculum easy to access for teachers and simple for administrators to manage and protect.
Key metrics
Reduce lesson prep time for teachers by streamlining access to materials
Increase curriculum adoption and engagement across schools
Provide administrators with real-time visibility through analytics and reporting
What we learned
Great content, but no infrastructure to support it
Major issues
Scattered access & lost time
Teachers juggled multiple shared drives and email links to locate lesson materials, often spending hours just finding what to teach
Lack of visibility & control
Administrators had no insight into how or when teachers were using the curriculum, making it difficult to measure adoption or impact
Security & scalability concerns
CRSci’s proprietary lessons were publicly shareable through Google Drive, risking content leaks and limiting future district-wide expansion

Process
Final designs
As an administrator, I want clear visibility into how CRSci's materials are being used and the ability to control which teachers can access specific content.
Admin dashboard
Designed to display complex data in a clear, actionable way. Helps administrators make confident decisions that support teachers, track curriculum performance, and guide strategic purchases to achieve business goals.
Teacher and course management
Teacher and course management pages help administrators manage teacher access, curriculum purchases, and invoices all in one organized view for smoother oversight and control.
As a teacher, I want to quickly find, preview, and download lessons so I can focus more on teaching than searching.
Quick access dashboard
A centralized hub where teachers can quickly access courses, recent lessons, bookmarks, and downloads to stay organized and prepared.
Course overview
A clear, structured layout that organizes modules, lessons, and resources for easy viewing and one click access to teaching materials.
As a content manager, I want an efficient way to share new lessons and gather feedback without relying on manual emails.
Platform communication tools
Admins can send updates, gather feedback, and manage FAQs — all in one place for streamlined communication across schools.

Clarity beats complexity.
The most valuable features weren't the flashiest ones. They were the simple flows that made everyday tasks effortless for teachers and admins.
Feedback is the real metric.
Working closely with the CRSci team reminded me that thoughtful iteration and open communication can be just as impactful as data.
